Tastes and Tales at TasteFest

Corrie O’Brien shared her English Pappa’s scone recipe

Taree Universities Campus were delighted to participate in TasteFest on the Manning last Saturday. The weather was perfect and this brought in a large crowd.

Our focus was on connecting with community by bringing food and storytelling together. Janine Roberts presented three cooking demonstrations with tastings being handed out to the crowd to enjoy.

Three MidCoast locals shared their heritage through their favourite family recipes, offering a delicious glimpse into the diverse cultures of the Manning area.

Corrie O’Brien shared her English Pappa’s scone recipe, Susie Ploder shared a Pancit recipe from her father’s Chinese heritage, and Irene Flissinger shared her Dutch Indonesian recipe for a spiced layered cake called Speckkoek.

All the recipes are available here.
